Tasked with creating a drawing bench for the students at the Pomona College Studio Art Hall, the WHY Objects Workshop started with the seat – wittily rejecting traditional, uncomfortable models and replacing with a moveable tractor-style seat. The laminated plywood bench was designed in collaboration with professor Michael O’Malley, and assembled and finished by students as part of the sculpture curriculum.
